Well, hello there.
My name is Deanna Russo. You may remember me from such television programs as Burning Love, Being Human, Knight Rider 2008, and Two and a Half Men. No? Not to worry. I've appeared in over one hundred episodes of TV so I'm sure you've seen me somewhere.
I first began acting when I was eight-years-old doing local theatre in Chester, New Jersey. I moved into the on-camera scene while I was studying psychology at Rollins College in Florida. There, I booked my first national commercial and became SAG eligible. I figured if I could find TV/film work in Orlando, surely I had to try my luck in Los Angeles. So my mom paid for my union membership as my graduation present, and off I went to California. Within a few months, I appeared in Charmed as a gypsy midwife.
But wait, there's more. In 2007, I won the award for Best Director at the New Orleans Film Festival for my mockumentary, Taste of Kream. I later directed and produced two seasons of a web series for Funny or Die called Real Life with Married People. Most recently, friends and I created an animated series about witchcraft, but my passion is developing a feminist action/drama anthology. Historical fiction is my calling, and I hope to inspire future revisions of elementary textbooks.
The last few years of my life have been the most formative as I made two human beings with my body and came out of the closet as a gay woman. Visibility is crucial to the LGBTQ+ community, and I'm proud to be a part of it. Life is wild. Can't wait to see what else it brings.
